Im always open for interesting opportunity

I have experienced the influence that yoga can have on personal development from a young age. I started practicing yoga daily at the age of 14 and have continued ever since. This has given me a deep respect and gratitude for my practice and the practice of others. Yoga has helped me so much, especially during my developmental years when yoga made me feel more confident in myself and the changes I was going through.

Yoga can be described as a compilation of different practices that affect different but complementary aspects of each of us holistically. For example, the practice of yoga asana (postures) creates body awareness, which means feeling good in your own skin, which is great in any situation. Through all the different poses and methods, you can also achieve an impressive improvement in your health. Then there is the practice of meditation, which improves your mental well-being. Finally, pranayama (breathing techniques) stimulate the energy in your body. All these elements come together to bring you to a state of clarity, authenticity and contentment. You become a person who can consciously take the actions that lead to who you want to be.

I personally believe that yoga is about the journey, not the destination. There is so much freedom to be found on the path to enlightenment, as you find methods to act freely in every situation you encounter, that the whole idea of enlightenment becomes irrelevant. So the journey itself becomes the goal.

My way of teaching is strongly influenced by my own personal experiences. Being introduced to Hatha Yoga by my mother was a great start. After finishing a one year online daily beginner’s course I was motivated to experience more. Again following my mother’s advice I switched to Vinyasa Yoga; a more active practice that involves a lot of fluid movement. Since then Vinyasa Yoga has been my favourite. That has not stopped my curiosity, so I added Astanga Yoga to my repertoire. These practices complemented my interests in body weight training and martial arts and therfore proved the perfect fit for me.
In 2022 I was invited to a retreat in the south of Portugal in the Inner Peace Forest Retreat. Here Gordon Sillence introduced me to Iyengar Yoga. Through this training my knowledge of Asana improved tremendously: not only how to practice but also how to teach. The use of supportive props characterises Iyengar Yoga. In this way I have been trained to teach client centered yoga (adjusting the practice to the student not the student to the practice). Here we use our knowledge of the human body in order to provide a holistic practice for all our students whatever their ability or experience or even their state of recovery from injury.

I am interested in teaching a mixed range of different abilities and age groups, in order to help all types of yoga students and in order to improve my overall teaching. The intention of my teaching is to help people with the development of their own ability (irrespective of what that level is) up until the point where your self practice can be continued with confidence.

If you interested in a chat, or a taster lesson feel free to contact me. I am committed to helping you achieve what is right for your own body and level.
